Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop

I did this once a couple of months ago, but hadn't done it again until now because I could never get enough time to hop around to the other blogs.

This week's question:

"When you read a book that you just can't get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or move to your next title?"

I usually try to stick it out for as long as possible.  There have been a couple of books that I've just completely given up on and others that I'd wished I had.  I hate quitting things, but sometimes it just has to be done.  I quit The Fetch because it was just annoying and I wish I'd quit Bleeding Violet because it was just all-around awful and The Red Necklace because it was a mess.

So now to hippity-hop to some other blogs...

Hi! Just hopping by for the book blogger hop. I give up on a book when I feel the time is right but no sooner then 50 pages. Sometimes a book can capture me too but something just isn't working and I have to set it aside for a while.

I hope you'll stop by my blog at www.cookiesbooksbikes.com/

Have a great weekend!

Hello... Hopping past for the blog hop & am a new follower. I easily put the book down if it doesn't grip - I am sucker for being pulled in and living life in the pages!

Hopping by and love your book talks. I, too, am a librarian who loves to talk about books -- book club, book blogs, book discussions, etc. I'm following . . .

Glad to have found you via the Hop. I don't even bother trying to stick it out with books I don't like. I just set them aside and move on. Simple as that :)

Have a great weekend!

I hate quitting too, but if reading a certain story is making grouchy and miserable -- I've learned to DNF it.

Thanks for listing the books you quit or should have quit! A lot of people are saying they've only ever quit one or two ever, but don't tell you what it is!... and I figure, if you've only ever quit that many, they have to be REALLY awful. I've quit very few myself (Robert Jordon, Christopher Paolini, this one book I read that had no punctuation!) but I had good reasons for them all! (Even though some of them are very popular reads)

New follower here!
