Book Blogger Hop

"Do you read only one book at a time, or do you have several going at once?"

Personally, I really can't "read" two books at once.  I usually have one that I focus on and will occasionally have a "back-up" book around if my mood changes or if I left my main one somewhere out of reach.  The second one is usually a re-read, though, so I almost never count is as reading more than one at a time.

I'm currently reading Delirium, by Lauren Oliver, and while I'm loving the idea of it, it's hard to read another dystopian novel.  This one is good, but so many before have also been good.  Why are dystopias so draining on the soul?

Hi,

Just found you through the Hop and now following, too. I seem to have a reading style similar to yours - I'm almost always an one-book-at-a-time reader.

Take care & happy reading,
Ms C

I often have two going, but I agree, one tends to be the focus. I love your description of dystopian novels being draining on the soul, very true. I am glad I found your blog via the hop.

I totally agree that all those dystopian novels can be draining. That's why I read two light and fluffy books for every post-apocalyptic novel! Happy Hopping!

Not everyone can multi-task and nobody should. When it comes to book sure, I can't read four books simultaneously (or even two, for that matter!) but there are times I'll juggle as many as four books at a time depending on the subject matter, the urgency or more often both.

The real trick to this is what KINDS of books to juggle. Hop on over to my blog and learn the method behind my madness - http://www.howardshermannet

Hopping through. New follower! I agree that dystopia is draining. It's the reason I don't like the genre that much. It plays on our fears. That being said, there are still books I enjoy.
